The product configurator

The configurator is the place where a window or a door turns into a drawing, and the drawing into a price. Everything assembled here travels on by itself: the parts list, the cutting, the sketch in the quotation, the job for the shop floor. There is no separate "draw" and "calculate" — it is one step.

In brief: where things are#

The configurator opens from the order card with the «+ Позиция» button, and also from the «Расчёты» (calculations) section with the «Новый расчёт» (new calculation) button — the form is one and the same. If you have come from an order, the mark «Позиция заказа: …» with the site address is visible at the top, and at the bottom, instead of «Создать расчёт», stands «Добавить в заказ».

There are four steps: «Заказчик» (customer), «Категория», «Конструктор», «Готово» (done). The «Далее» (next) button will not let you leave the «Конструктор» step until the mandatory fields are filled in — the line «Не хватает: …» (missing) will appear under it, together with the «Заполнить» (fill in) link, which opens the panel needed. There are only four mandatory ones: width, height, profile system, insulating glass unit.

1. The product category#

The category is not cosmetics: it decides which norms the engine will apply at all, and which layouts it will show.

The «Фасон» card (free-form geometry) is in development and will be available soon; it cannot be chosen yet.

Some categories may be closed for your company — then the card cannot be chosen. To open it, contact support.

2. The overall size of the product#

Width and height are the overall size of the product across the outer edge of the frame. It is with exactly this size that the product goes to the shop floor: the system neither subtracts nor adds any installation clearances.

The overall size is set right on the drawing: «Размеры и деление на секции редактируются прямо на чертеже: кликните по числу ширины (снизу) или высоты (слева), чтобы ввести точное значение.» A click on the caption opens an input field on the dimension line itself; Enter applies, Esc cancels.

There can be several dimension chains: they repeat the structure of the layout — one per division — and the outermost caption is always the overall size. The per-segment figures are clickable too: that is how the exact width of a column or the height of a row is set, not only that of the whole product.

For a facade the limit is 100 000 mm (100 metres). When typing, check that the number has no extra zero.

The «Количество изделий» (number of products) field is how many identical products are to be made under this item. There is no separate copy of an item in the order: identical products are set here by a number.

3. Dividing into cells#

There are three ways to divide a product, and they complement one another.

A preset — a ready-made layout. The «Раскладка» button above the drawing opens a gallery grouped by meaning: «Глухие / створки», «Комбинации», «С фрамугой», «Сетки», «Стопки / низ», «Раздвижные», «Лоджии», «Витражи» — for a window; «Двери», «Двойные», «Стекло + панель», «Боковое стекло», «Входные группы» — for a door; «Балконные», «Т-/Г-образные» — for a balcony block. A preset is a starting point: it lays out the sections and the openings in one go, and after that you correct them by hand.

Dividing by hand. Click a cell → «Разделить импостом:» → «Вертикальный импост» (vertical mullion) or «Горизонтальный импост» (horizontal mullion). The names speak about the axis of the mullion itself: a vertical mullion puts the sections in a row from left to right, a horizontal one puts them one above the other. The reverse action is «Убрать деление» (remove the division).

Dragging. The «Двигать» tool in the row above the drawing: «Тяни линию импоста мышью (или пальцем на тачскрине), чтобы сдвинуть. Наведи/тапни на линию повторно — появится «×» для удаления деления.» The «Выбор» (select) tool, on the contrary, opens the cell's parameter window.

The exact size of a cell is set as a figure in its own window — the «Ширина, мм:» and «Высота, мм:» fields. A size set that way is pinned, and the neighbouring section no longer moves it; to return the cell to free mode, press the «Закреплено — открепить» (pinned — unpin) mark.

For the «Фасад» category the division is set by numbers as well: «Сетка фасада — колонок × рядов» (the facade grid, columns × rows), the «Колонок (стоек)» and «Рядов (ригелей)» fields, the «Построить сетку» (build the grid) button.

4. Filling a cell#

Every cell is either fixed, or a sash, or a door leaf, and separately from that it is decided what it is filled with.

The «Заполнение:» (filling) line in the cell window gives three options: «Стекло» (glass), «Сэндвич-панель» (sandwich panel), «Ламбри» (PVC cladding panel). One cell can be divided horizontally into several fields — the «+ Добавить поле (средник)» (add a field, with an intermediate bar) button, up to six fields; the caption then changes to «Заполнение по полям (сверху вниз, средник между ними):», and the proportions are set by the «Доля:» (share) field. That is how the classic "glass on top, panel at the bottom" door is assembled.

Which insulating glass unit exactly is fitted is chosen for the whole product at once — the «Стеклопакет» field in the «Параметры изделия» panel, and there too the «Закалённое стекло» (toughened glass) tick box and the choice of a sandwich panel. If the profile system has no glazing bead for the thickness required, the option says so: «нет штапика под … мм».

5. Opening and the symbols on the sketch#

The opening is set in the cell window by the «Открывание:» (opening) line. A window has nine options:

The symbol on the drawing is read as on any window drawing: the apex of the angle points to the handle side, and the base to the hinge side. Solid lines are an inward opening, a dashed line an outward one. The tick marks on the hanging side are the hinges, the tick mark opposite is the handle. The opening symbol is the only coloured line on the drawing, which is why it is seen at once.

Some of the options may be unavailable — the tile is dimmed with an explanation: «У выбранной профильной системы не заведена фурнитура под этот вариант открывания.» or «…под навеску с этой стороны.»

The handle. The «Ручка:» (handle) line and the «Изменить» (change) button. There are two options — «Стандартная ручка» (a standard handle) and «Чит-чит», and «Чит-чит» is available only to bottom-hung and transom sashes. A fixed, a sliding and a passive sash have no handle: «У этой ячейки нет ручки — открывание не предполагает фурнитуры.»

The hinges. The «Петли:» (hinges) line — «Видимые петли» (visible hinges), «Скрытые петли» (concealed hinges), «ROTO». Only the visible ones are drawn on the sketch: the concealed ones and ROTO are not shown. If the system does not carry the option chosen, a demand to state the hinges explicitly will appear — without that the item will not be calculated.

6. The door pair: the active and the passive sash#

On a double-leaf door one sash is the working one, the second is usually held on flush bolts and is opened rarely. In the configurator this is set by the «Без ручки» (no handle) tile in the opening palette of a door cell: «Без ручки — пассивная створка штульп-двери, без замка/ручки». The tile stands in the same row as the rest of the openings and appears when there are exactly two door leaves in the pair.

A click on the tile makes that sash passive and takes the handle off it. A click on any ordinary opening (or on «Глухое») returns the sash to the active ones.

There are four door openings: «Внутрь, петли слева», «Внутрь, петли справа», «Наружу, петли слева», «Наружу, петли справа» (inward or outward, hinges on the left or on the right), plus «Глухое» — «Глухое — убрать дверь, секция станет обычной глухой ячейкой». A door has no tilt-and-turn: «У двери нет поворотно-откидного открывания — только распашное.»

«Соединение створок» — the system decides, not you#

When there is a passive sash in the pair, a non-editable line «Соединение створок:» (the joint between the sashes) appears in the cell window, with one of two values:

• «штульп (есть в системе)» — a false mullion: the sashes close against each other, there is no separate mullion;
• «импост (штульпа в «…» нет)» — an ordinary mullion stands instead of the false mullion.

There is nothing to click here: the kind of joint is derived from the norms of the profile system chosen, at the moment of calculation. Change the system and the joint is recalculated along with it.

The opening direction is taken from the drawing#

There is no separate "door opening direction" field in the form — the direction is derived from the sashes you have drawn, and it decides the sash profile in the parts list. From that comes one restriction:

7. Arched products#

The shape of the product is chosen with the shape button in the tool row above the drawing: «Прямоуг.» (rectangular), «Арка» (arch), «Трапеция» (trapezium), «Право-трап.» (right-angled trapezium), «Треугольник» (triangle), «Круг» (circle). For the arch and the bevels a field appears next to it — «Высота арки, мм» or «Высота скоса, мм» — with the hint «~30% ширины»: leave it empty and the system will take those 30 %.

The arch rise is corrected right on the drawing as well — the «Высота арки …» caption stands inside the product, along the axis of symmetry, from the apex to the springing line, and is clicked just like the overall size. It has been moved inside: outside, in the strip of heights, it would read as one more height of the product.

That is, the sections are laid out under the dome, not through it: the arch is cut off from the total height before the grid is calculated. That is why the arched layouts — «Арка глухая», «Арка 1 створка», «Арка 2 секции», «Арка 3 секции», «Арка с фрамугой» — divide exactly the rectangular part. An arched door has its own: «Арка: дверь», «Арка: двойная дверь», «Арка: дверь и боковые стёкла», «Арка: дверь с фрамугой».

An arch is not dearer than a rectangle "by eye": the prime cost includes a surcharge for bending the profile (its own for PVC, aluminium and thermal) and a percentage for the arched cutting of the glass. They are set once in Справочники → «Доплаты за операции» (surcharges for operations) — in more detail on the Prices and markups page.

8. The door threshold#

The threshold is an option, not a mandatory part of a door. The «Порог (нижний профиль двери)» tick box lives in the «Параметры изделия» panel and is shown only on door products; in the summary it is reflected as «С порогом» (with a threshold) or «Без порога» (without one).

The threshold is a profile of its own, and the tick box gates its rows in the parts list. On a window the field is not shown and does not affect the calculation.

Next to it, in the «Доп.элементы» (extras) section, there is a per-piece field «Порог, шт» with the hint «пусто — по числу дверей» — that is already about the quantity, not about the presence.

9. What the customer sees#

What goes to the customer is the item's sketch in the quotation — the same drawing that you assembled on the canvas: the sashes, the hinges, the handles and the opening symbols.

In the quotation the sketches stand in a grid of two or three items per row, each with a number, a quantity of pieces, a drawing, and below it the name, the profile, the colour and the area of one product. There are no per-item prices in the quotation — in detail about that on the Orders and documents page.

The same sketch goes into the «Производственное задание» (the production job) — there already with the cutting and the parts, but without prices.

10. The usual rakes to step on#

Changing the profile system resets the colour. If the colour chosen is not in the set of the new system, it is removed with the explanation «…не входит в набор цветов системы «…». Выберите цвет заново.» Check the colour after every change of system, not only at the end.

A profile system may be under-equipped. In the list such a system is labelled «дозаполните систему (нет: …)», and the calculation answers: «Профильная система не укомплектована: не хватает «…». Дозаполните её в разделе «Профильные системы» и попробуйте снова.» The missing items are listed in the brackets.

On a sliding product the «Рельсовость рамы» must be set. The options are «1 рельс (рама 5504-5505)», «2 рельса (рама 5501-5502)», «3 рельса (рама 5501-5503-5502)» — one, two or three tracks in the frame. The system substitutes nothing for you: the frames differ in price threefold.

«Соединитель с соседним изделием» is not on every system. The options — «Поворот 90°» (a 90° turn) and «Труба» (a tube) — are taken from your system's catalogue; if they are not there, the selector is not shown at all. The side is chosen separately («Сторона соединителя») and does not affect the price — only which edge the symbol is drawn at.

The passive sash has no handle. A false-mullion sash physically has no handle and no lock. If a handle is needed on it, then the sash is not a passive one.

A pinned cell size does not move by itself. You have set the width of a section as a figure — the neighbouring section will not move it any more. Until that is taken off («Закреплено — открепить»), the neighbours' edits will look as if they go "the wrong way".

Read the checks under the drawing. The line «⚠ Проверка прочности/собираемости:» (the strength/buildability check) warns about risky geometry, «✓ Конфигурация технологична.» says that everything is in order. Separately there goes the «Проверка на сервере» (the server-side check) with the answer «✓ Конфигурация прошла проверку на сервере.». For large sashes the «Усиленная створка (5507-5513)» (a reinforced sash) tick box is provided.

What the system does not have#

So that you do not go looking:

• There is no free-form geometry yet. The «Фасон» card is in development and will be available soon; it cannot be chosen yet.
• A false mullion or a mullion cannot be chosen by hand — the kind of joint of a door pair is derived by the system from the norms of the profile system.
• A false mullion and a mullion are not told apart by the drawing on the sketch — only by the text in the «Соединение створок» line.
• Concealed hinges and ROTO are not drawn on the sketch — only the visible ones are.
• A door has no tilt-and-turn opening — only side-hung.
• There is no separate "door opening direction" field — it is taken from the drawing, from the sashes.
• There is no manual choice of the sash profile (T/Z) — it is derived from the opening direction.
• The system does not count installation clearances. Width and height are the size of the product, not of the aperture.
• The «Арки» card has no door layouts — an arched door is entered with its own card.
• There is no copying of a single cell or section. Repeating products are set by the «Количество изделий» field, and a similar item by a copy of the calculation in the «Расчёты» section.

Who is allowed to do what#

The surveyor assembles products on an equal footing with the rest, but sees no money at all: in their item card there is the selling price, and there is no prime cost, no markup and no parts list.

The stock manager has no access to the calculations.
